Spadework 2026 Team Support

This September, members of our Account Management Team were joined by our Business Operations Director, Simon Austin, and Head of New Business Development, William Asare, for a second year of volunteering at Spadework.

Spadework is a Kent-based charity that provides training and employment opportunities for adults with learning and other disabilities, people experiencing problems with their mental health and those living with dementia. It helps its trainees to build personal, social and work skills, with support to become more independent.

Spadework runs a range of initiatives and facilities to support its work, including a café, farm shop and seasonal activities like the ever-popular Pumpkin Garden. The garden is a key part of the charity’s annual fundraising, drawing in visitors from across the community each autumn.

Our Contribution

This year, our team worked together to improve the efficiency of the pumpkin collection process. We reorganised the layout of the patch and arranging the pumpkins in a single row so that the tractor could collect them more easily. That small change made a big difference – it allowed safer, faster loading onto crates and eased the workload for Spadework staff and trainees.

It was fantastic to see how a simple adjustment could make such a meaningful difference to the charity’s day-to-day operations, allowing them to focus more time and energy on their trainees and wider community initiatives.

We are proud to continue our support of Spadework, and we look forward to exploring more ways to help in the future.
